概要
The Information Lens provides electronic mail users with the ability to write rules that automatically sort, select and filter their messages. This paper describes experiences of 13 volunteer users of the rules facility. In particular: people without significant computer experience can create and use rules; useful rules can be created based on the fields present in all messages; rules are used for both prioritizing and sorting messages; delete rules are used primarily to filter out messages from low-priority distribution lists.
