Abstract: The authors evaluate a multi-user drawing tool
        called Commune (including video link) in a
        three-person distributed design exercise. Tool use
        was augmented by a video/audio link and audio only.
        They observed no difficulties in 3 people over 2
        people using the shared drawing surface use.
        Audio-only connections appeared to adequately
        support this work activity, but details of the
        interactions in the excercise raised questions about
        video support that deserve further studies.
